Hanoi: Vietnam’s pepper exports in early 2025 experienced a notable increase in value despite a reduction in the volume exported, largely due to substantial hikes in export prices.

According to Vietnam News Agency, data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) revealed that in the first four months of the year, Vietnam exported a total of 74,250 tonnes of pepper, generating 510.6 million USD in revenue. Although the export volume fell by 10.6% compared to the previous year, the export turnover surged by an impressive 45%.

In the same period, Vietnam imported 15,374 tonnes of pepper, valued at 88.3 million USD. This represents year-on-year increases of 25.3% in volume and a remarkable 104.8% in value, highlighting the dynamic nature of Vietnam’s pepper trade in response to global market demands.
