Hanoi:Vietnam's total goods trade has reached an estimated 1.01 trillion USD in the first 10 months of 2026, marking a significant milestone by surpassing the 1 trillion USD mark for the first time. This represents a 32.3% increase from the previous year, as reported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Agency of Foreign Trade.
According to Vietnam News Agency, trade turnover for October alone was estimated at 122.2 billion USD, which is a 47.6% increase year-on-year. The country's exports have shown robust growth, with an estimated total of 499 billion USD from January to October, reflecting a 27.4% increase. This strong performance positions Vietnam to meet or potentially exceed its full-year 2026 export growth target of 15-16%.
Furthermore, Vietnam recorded a trade surplus of approximately 6.8 billion USD in October, marking the second consecutive month of surplus. This has contributed to narrowing the cumulative trade deficit for the first 10 months to around 12.7 billion USD.
