Hanoi: General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam on September 15 requested the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) to set higher requirements for people-to-people diplomacy in the new period, focusing on building deep and well-connected networks capable of mobilising resources. The top leader met with representatives of the 7th-term Executive Committee of the union for the 2026-2031 tenure in Hanoi following its seventh National Congress.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting underscored the importance of people-to-people diplomacy as a crucial component of Vietnam's global strategy. To Lam emphasized that VUFO should leverage these networks to enhance Vietnam's international cooperation and foster mutual understanding. The focus on resource mobilization is aimed at strengthening Vietnam's diplomatic influence and ensuring the country's active participation in global affairs.
The 7th-term Executive Committee is tasked with implementing these directives over the next five years, working closely with international partners and stakeholders. The goal is to create a robust system that supports Vietnam's socio-economic development and its integration into the global community.
