Hanoi:The fourth plenum of the 14th Party Central Committee commenced on October 5, featuring opening remarks by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and President To Lam.

According to Vietnam News Agency, Politburo Member and President of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man presided over the opening session on behalf of the Politburo.

Prior to the session, delegates honored heroes and martyrs by laying wreaths and offering incense at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son street in Hanoi. The plenum is set to continue until October 8.
