26 New Caves Discovered in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park

Quang tri: The Management Board of the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in the central province of Quang Tri has announced 26 caves newly discovered in the park in 2026, following a survey of caves and tourism resources conducted from March 21 to April 11 by a group of British cave experts with support from local guides and residents. According to Vietnam News Agency, the new findings comprised several large caves with complex structures and high scientific value. Among the discoveries, Thien Cung Cave was identified as the longest cave during the survey, measuring 4,206 metres. Other significant caves discovered include Nuoc Lan Cave at 2,721 metres, Ma Dom Cave at 1,257 metres, and Cha Ngheo Cave at 583 metres. These discoveries reveal considerable potential for further exploration.
