AI Strategy Seen as Engine for Innovation-Driven Growth in Vietnam: Scholar


Hanoi: Artificial intelligence (AI) should be regarded not only as a high-value, spearhead industry, but also as a critical foundation for strengthening Vietnam’s national competitiveness, enhancing strategic autonomy, and progressively affirming its position in a new era, according to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Tam, Chair of the Department of Computer Science, Data and Artificial Intelligence at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris).



According to Vietnam News Agency, Prof. Dr. Nguyen emphasized the transformative potential of AI in driving Vietnam’s economic growth and technological advancement. He highlighted that AI technologies could play a pivotal role in various sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, and agriculture, thereby significantly contributing to the country’s GDP and employment rates.



The scholar also stressed the importance of developing a comprehensive national AI strategy that focuses on research and development, talent cultivation, and international collaboration. He suggested that such a strategy would not only boost innovation but also attract foreign investments, positioning Vietnam as a key player in the global AI landscape.



Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Nguyen called for increased government support and policy frameworks to facilitate AI integration across industries. He noted that fostering partnerships between academia, industry, and government would be crucial in creating an ecosystem conducive to AI innovation and entrepreneurship.
