An Giang Records Surge with Over 13.3 Million Tourists in First Five Months

Hanoi: The Mekong Delta province of An Giang welcomed over 13.3 million tourists in the first five months of 2026, marking an increase of 12.1% compared to the same period last year. This influx of visitors brought a total revenue of over 33 trillion VND (approximately 1.26 billion USD), achieving nearly 50% of the province's annual financial target.

According to Vietnam News Agency, Phu Quoc island played a significant role in this tourism boom by attracting over 1.17 million international tourists, showing a 51% increase compared to the previous year. The island's popularity contributed to nearly 99% of the total international visitors to the province, highlighting its status as a key destination within An Giang.
