Metropolitan Police Bureau and TOP G detectives arrest a brutal debt collector gang, the same network that attacked a 73-year-old grandmother and fled to hide in a motel. Online patrols found a criminal named Mr. Chit, one of the brutal debt collectors, who along with two others committed brutal debt collection by physically assaulting, threatening, kicking in the door, turning off the electrical switches of the debtors' houses, and locking the doors and preventing the debtors from leaving the house. The Min Buri Criminal Court approved an arrest warrant for the offenses of 'jointly operating a personal loan service business under supervision without permission, jointly lending money to others in a manner that is in the form of charging interest rates exceeding the rate specified by law, jointly collecting debts in a manner that is threatening, intimidating, etc.' The investigation found that Mr. Chit is part of a brutal debt collector gang, the same gang that attacked a 73-year-old grandmother in the Chok chai Police Station area, and was arrested a few days ago. Later today (July 30) at 7:30 a.m., Metropolitan Police detectives along with TOP G detectives worked together to track down and arrest Mr. Kritsachit, age 33, the suspect. He was arrested inside a hotel in the Saphan Sung district of Bangkok while he was trying to escape in his personal car from the hotel he was renting on a daily basis. During the arrest, Mr. Kritsada denied all charges, stating that he graduated from Mathayom 3 and used to work as a fruit farmer in Thalang District, Phuket Province. Later, in 2022, he sold the land where he farmed and made some money, so he started lending money. Mr. Ta and Mr. Khet, the suspects who are still at large and were involved in the incident, were a team that traveled around lending money in the Min Buri, Ram Intra, Rom Klao, and On Nut areas, charging 20 baht interest per day to those who came to borrow money. Usually, there would be about 5,000-6,000 baht per borrower, and he, Mr. Ta, and Mr. Khet wo uld be the ones to collect the money from the borrowers. On the day of the incident, he claimed that Mr. Ta and Mr. Khet were the ones who used violence against the debtors. However, the police did not believe his statement. However, the investigation found that Mr. Kritsada was the boyfriend of the younger sister of Mr. Kenwit or Ken, one of the debt collectors who attacked the 73-year-old grandmother in the Chokchai Police Station area who was arrested earlier. In addition, the investigation found that they had fled to live together before escaping and taking refuge in the hotel where they were arrested because someone had sent them news to escape. However, they were cornered by the investigation team while they were fleeing from the hotel where they were hiding. They were then taken to the Min Buri Police Station for legal proceedings.
