ASEAN Law Forum 2026 Focuses on AI Application in Lawmaking, Enforcement

Hanoi: The Vietnamese Ministry of Justice is hosting the ASEAN Law Forum 2026 in Hanoi on August 18-19, under the theme 'Applying Artificial Intelligence in Lawmaking and Law Implementation in the Digital Era'. At the forum's plenary and thematic sessions, delegates discussed AI application in lawmaking and the development of the national law portal, ASEAN legal and policy frameworks for digital transformation, responsible AI practices, smart governance, national AI sovereignty, and people-centred approaches to AI application.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the forum aims to explore how artificial intelligence can be effectively integrated into the legislative process and law enforcement. The discussions are centered on how AI can enhance the efficiency and transparency of legal systems and contribute to the digital transformation in ASEAN countries. Participants are also examining the balance between innovation and regulation, ensuring that AI is used responsibly and ethically.

The event brings together legal experts, policymakers, and technology professionals from across the ASEAN region.
