Vienna: Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Vu Le Thai Hoang recently met with the family of Austrian children's writer Mira Lobe in Vienna to honor her contributions to global children's literature and the impact of her works in Vietnam. This meeting coincided with the recognition of Lobe's book, "The Grandmother in the Apple Tree," at Vietnam's 2025 National Book Awards. The book was translated into Vietnamese by Chu Thu Phuong and published by Kim Dong Publishing House.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the accolade awarded to "The Grandmother in the Apple Tree" marks it as one of the outstanding children's books in Vietnam, highlighting the appeal of Austrian literature in the country. This recognition underscores the cultural ties between Vietnam and Austria, showcasing how literature can bridge cultures and resonate with audiences worldwide.
