Bac ninh: The northern province of Bac Ninh has selected 36 outstanding lychee orchards to serve visitors during the 2026 lychee season as part of efforts to promote its lychee brand in association with agricultural tourism development. The orchards, covering a combined area of 36.1 hectares and expected to yield about 315.9 tonnes of fruit, were chosen from 143 'beautiful lychee orchards' recognised by the provincial People's Committee. They meet criteria related to cultivation area, production standards, food safety, transport accessibility and tourism-friendly landscapes.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the initiative aims to leverage Bac Ninh's agricultural assets to boost tourism and economic growth. By integrating tourism with agriculture, the province seeks to attract visitors to experience the local culture and farming practices while enjoying the popular fruit. This strategy not only enhances the province's tourism offerings but also supports the local lychee farmers by opening up new market opportunities.
The selected orchards have undergone a rigorous selection process to ensure they meet the required standards. With an emphasis on food safety and transport accessibility, these orchards are well-prepared to welcome tourists. The initiative highlights Bac Ninh's commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and its dedication to providing a unique and enriching experience for visitors.
The provincial People's Committee has recognized the importance of aligning agricultural production with tourism development. This approach is expected to create a symbiotic relationship between the two sectors, ultimately benefiting the local economy. Bac Ninh's promotion of lychee tourism is set to become a model for other regions seeking to enhance their agricultural tourism potential.
