Vietnam Proposes Key Cooperation Orientations at BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting


New delhi: Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang has put forward a range of cooperation priorities between BRICS and partner countries at the Expanded BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, underscoring the need to strengthen resilience through both internal capacity and international collaboration. The meeting, themed ‘Building Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainable Development,’ opened on May 14 under the chairmanship of the Minister of External Affairs of India – the BRICS Chair in 2026. It brought together foreign ministers and senior officials from member states and partner countries.



According to Vietnam News Agency, Deputy Foreign Minister Hang’s proposals emphasized the importance of fostering innovation and sustainable development as central pillars of the cooperation strategy. The initiatives aim to enhance the collective resilience of BRICS nations by leveraging mutual strengths and promoting shared goals with partner countries.



The meeting served as a platform for discussing various strategic approaches to address current global challenges, with a focus on achieving sustainable development. Participants deliberated on enhancing economic collaboration, technological exchange, and joint efforts in addressing climate change, all crucial for building a resilient international community.
