Can tho: The Mekong Delta city of Can Tho is seeking to deepen economic cooperation with Dutch partners in smart agriculture, water management, and climate-resilient development, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Tran Chi Hung said on January 20. Receiving a delegation led by Raissa Marteaux, Consul General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, together with representatives of leading Dutch technology firms, financial institutions, and policymakers, Hung highlighted the strong and growing cooperation between the Netherlands and Vietnam, including Can Tho, especially in areas where the European country has recognised strengths such as human resources training, water resources management, smart agriculture, and sustainable development.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting emphasized the potential for collaboration in sectors where the Netherlands possesses advanced expertise. Can Tho's leadership expressed a keen interest in leveraging Dutch experience to enhance local capacities and address pressing challenges related to climate change and sustainable growth. The visit by the Dutch delegation is expected to lay the groundwork for future partnerships and initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth and resilience in the region.
