Can Tho, World Bank Join Hand to Boost Public Investment

Hanoi: Vuong Quoc Nam, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho People's Committee, held a working session with a World Bank (WB) delegation on the technical assistance programme for local public financial management reform in the Mekong delta city on August 20. The WB and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) have selected Can Tho as one of the localities to participate in the programme.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the collaboration aims to enhance public investment management in Can Tho. The technical assistance programme is expected to support local authorities in implementing comprehensive financial management reforms, which are crucial for the city's development.

The World Bank and SECO's selection of Can Tho underscores the importance of the city in the region's economic landscape. The programme will focus on improving budgetary processes and financial transparency to better allocate resources for public projects. The partnership is part of a broader effort to strengthen economic governance and resilience in the Mekong delta region.
