Creative Labour Must Become Vietnam’s Most Important Resource in the Future: Top Leader

Hanoi: Party General Secretary and State President To Lam has emphasized the necessity for Vietnam to transition from 'simple labour' to 'creative labour', underscoring the importance of enhancing the quality of the national workforce. He declared this objective as the most significant goal and measure outlined in the Politburo's Resolution No. 57 for the new development phase. This statement was made during a meeting of the Central Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation Development and Digital Transformation on July 30. The meeting aimed to review the progress made so far and to establish key tasks for the forthcoming period. General Secretary and President Lam, who also serves as the head of the committee, urged a shift from managing progress to managing outcomes.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting highlighted the importance of innovative and creative labour as the driving force for future economic development in Vietnam. The emphasis was placed on the need for a strategic transformation in the workforce to align with the goals of digital transformation and innovation. President Lam's directives aim to prepare Vietnam's workforce to meet the demands of global integration and technological advancement.

The Central Steering Committee is set to play a pivotal role in steering Vietnam towards a knowledge-based economy, as outlined in Resolution No. 57. This shift is expected to not only enhance productivity but also improve the overall competitiveness of Vietnam in the international arena. The focus on managing outcomes rather than progress is intended to ensure tangible results and sustainable development in the long term.
