Crowds Visit Hue Monuments on Free-Entry Day Marking 80th National Day

Hue: Visitors flocked to historic sites in Hue city on August 19 as free admission was offered to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2). The Hue Monuments Conservation Centre announced free entry for all Vietnamese citizens on August 19 and September 2, with opening hours from 6 am to 5:30 pm. In addition to the Imperial City, other iconic sites such as the royal tombs of Tu Duc, Khai Dinh and Minh Mang, Thien Mu Pagoda, Quoc Hoc School, Truong Tien Bridge and the riverside landscapes also drew large crowds.

According to Vietnam News Agency, Hue has recorded strong tourism growth this year. In the first seven months of 2025, the city welcomed over 4 million visitors, up 71% year-on-year, including more than 1.2 million international arrivals (up 41%). Tourism revenue reached an estimated 7.45 trillion VND (315.5 million USD), a 56% increase compared with the same period in 2024.
