Ca Mau Aims to Become Renewable Energy Hub

Hanoi: The southern province of Ca Mau is leveraging its strategic location to position itself as the renewable energy hub of the Mekong Delta and a leading exporter of renewable energy in Vietnam. The province is uniquely situated with three sides facing the sea and boasts a long coastline of 310 km, making it an ideal location for renewable energy development. The region benefits from stable wind speeds and high sunshine duration, essential factors for renewable energy production.

According to Vietnam News Agency, wind power is a significant driver of Ca Mau’s energy industry. The area experiences average wind speeds of 6.3 – 7 meters per second at altitudes of 80 – 100 meters, with speeds increasing further offshore. These conditions are particularly favorable for the development of wind power, placing Ca Mau in a strong position to capitalize on its natural resources for energy production.
