Deputy PM Calls for High Priority Given to Vietnam-China Railway Cooperation

Hanoi: Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh met with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on September 16, marking a significant engagement during his working trip for the 22nd China – ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the 22nd China – ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) in Nanning city. Earlier in the trip, Chinh held discussions with Chen Gang, a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meetings underscored the importance of prioritizing cooperation on railway projects between Vietnam and China. The discussions highlighted the mutual interest in enhancing connectivity and fostering economic ties through improved railway infrastructure. This cooperation is seen as a strategic move to boost trade and investment between the two nations, leveraging the geographic and economic advantages of both countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister’s visit to Nanning and his engagements with key Chinese officials reflect Vietnam’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with China. The focus on railway cooperation aligns with broader regional initiatives to improve transportation links and facilitate smoother trade flows across borders.
