Deputy PM Proposes Progressive Policy Institute Promote Vietnam – US Relations

Hanoi: Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung urged the Progressive Policy Institute (PPI) to continue to support and promote the development of Vietnam-US relations when he hosted a reception in Hanoi on August 5 for PPI Chief Executive Officer Lindsay Mark Lewis and its working delegation. At the reception, Dung highly appreciated the PPI’s role in promoting and handling challenges in the Vietnam – US bilateral relations through research, reports, and policy recommendations to the US government.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting highlighted the importance of the PPI’s contributions in strengthening the partnership between the two nations. Dung emphasized the need for ongoing collaboration with the PPI to address potential challenges and enhance mutual understanding through strategic initiatives and policy dialogues.

The Deputy PM’s proposal aligns with Vietnam’s broader diplomatic strategy to fortify international partnerships, with a particular focus on economic and political cooperation with the United States. The reception underscored the significance of think tanks like the PPI in facilitating dialogue and formulating strategies that align with both countries’ interests.

Lindsay Mark Lewis, CEO of PPI, acknowledged the Deputy PM’s remarks and expressed a willingness to continue fostering a strong relationship between Vietnam and the United States. The PPI delegation conveyed their commitment to providing comprehensive policy recommendations and research to support bilateral initiatives.
