Deputy PM Rushes to Lai Chau Flood Zone, Pledges Fast Rebuilding After Deadly Disaster

Hanoi: Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung led a delegation to the flood-ravaged commune of Muong Than in the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau on July 21 to inspect recovery efforts. On the ground, Dung offered his deepest condolences to families who lost loved ones or have relatives still missing, and expressed sympathy to households that lost homes and property. He urged victims to push forward, pledging that the Party, State and authorities at every level will stand with them and rally support from across the country to help them settle their lives as quickly as possible.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need for swift action in rebuilding the affected areas. He highlighted the importance of mobilizing resources and coordinating efforts among various government bodies to expedite the relief process. Dung assured that necessary measures would be taken to restore infrastructure and provide adequate support to the inhabitants of Muong Than.

Additionally, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed the significance of implementing preventive measures to mitigate the impact of future disasters. He called for a comprehensive review of the region's current flood prevention strategies to ensure better preparedness and resilience against such calamities.
