Developing Ties with China a Strategic Priority in Vietnam’s Foreign Policy: Deputy PM

Hanoi: The Party, State, and people of Vietnam consistently views the development of relations with China as a strategic choice and a top priority in its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, and multilateralisation and diversification of external relations, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son has affirmed. He made the statement while addressing a banquet hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam on January 16 to celebrate the 76th founding anniversary of Vietnam - China diplomatic relations (January 18, 1950-2026).

According to Vietnam News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that maintaining and enhancing the relationship with China aligns with Vietnam's broader goals of independence and self-reliance. The Deputy PM's remarks highlight the continued commitment of Vietnam to foster strong diplomatic and economic ties with China, reflecting the longstanding historical and cultural connections between the two nations.
