Dong Thap Pink Mandarins Ready for Tet 2026 Demand

Dong thap: Dong Thap province is renowned for its Lai Vung pink mandarin, a fruit that boasts a single harvest each year just before Tet, the Lunar New Year. This fruit is particularly cherished during the traditional festival due to its striking color, thin skin, and distinctively sweet flavor, complemented by its minimal seeds. In recent years, the trend of cultivating these fruit trees in pots for display during the Tet holiday has gained popularity among farmers.

According to Vietnam News Agency, this year, the favorable weather conditions have allowed gardeners to prepare approximately 1,200 pots of pink mandarins. These will be available at prices ranging from 1.5 to 5 million VND (57 - 190 USD) per pot, catering to the festive market demand. The initiative not only enhances the aesthetic appeal during celebrations but also provides a lucrative opportunity for local farmers to capitalize on the holiday season.
