Hanoi: Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc has freshly signed a decision approving an emergency allocation of 80 billion VND (3.04 million USD) to the central provinces of Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak to help them overcome the consequences of Typhoon Kalmaegi, the 13th storm entering the East Sea so far this year. According to the decision, the funding is sourced from the 2025 central budget reserve, with 20 billion VND allocated to Quang Ngai, and 30 billion VND each to Gia Lai and Dak Lak.
According to Vietnam News Agency, this financial support is aimed at facilitating recovery efforts in the affected regions. The allocation will be used to address immediate needs and help restore infrastructure that has been damaged due to the typhoon. The decision underscores the government’s commitment to responding swiftly to natural disasters and supporting impacted communities in their recovery processes.
The central provinces have been grappling with the aftermath of Typhoon Kalmaegi, which has caused significant disruption and damage.
