Ho Chi Minh City:As quantum computing progresses, existing encryption methods face potential threats, posing risks to financial systems and vital digital infrastructure.
According to Vietnam News Agency, experts emphasized the urgency of preparing for post-quantum cryptography now rather than delaying until threats materialize. During a thematic discussion titled 'Data safety and security in the quantum era', part of the Autumn Economic Forum (AEF) 2026 on October 27, it was highlighted that Vietnam, especially Ho Chi Minh City, must bolster cybersecurity across critical systems and business supply chains.
This preparation aims to establish a secure foundation for digital transformation, enhance technological self-reliance, and reinforce confidence in the digital economy as the quantum era approaches.
