Hanoi: Ms. Lo Thi Hoa, a 69-year-old Thai woman residing in Trung Son village, Dak Wil commune, Lam Dong province, continues to diligently work at the loom, preserving the traditional brocade weaving craft that has been passed down through generations. Her efforts not only aim to maintain the weaving tradition for her family’s economic development but also involve actively teaching the craft to young people. Her dedication has earned her numerous certificates of merit and awards at various competitions and cultural festivals in the locality.
According to Vietnam News Agency, Ms. Hoa’s commitment to preserving this cultural heritage was recognized on a national level in 2019, when she was awarded the title of “Meritorious Artisan” by State President Nguyen Phu Trong. This honor was bestowed upon her for her outstanding contributions to the preservation and promotion of the nation’s intangible cultural heritage.
