Hanoi: The Ministry of National Defence recently organized a ceremony on July 3 to announce state-level decisions for three officers set to embark on United Nations peacekeeping assignments at the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). Among these officers, Lieutenant Colonel Luong Truong Vinh has been appointed to the significant role of Senior Liaison Officer and Head of the Military Observers' Office within UNMISS.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the ceremony also recognized an officer who has successfully concluded their duties as an ASEAN observer. Additionally, the event marked the deployment of a two-member team to Cambodia, tasked with replacing Vietnamese personnel in the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT).
