Free Health Checkups for Children Ahead of New School Year

Hanoi: Hanoi is rolling out free health checkups for more than 2.2 million preschool and school-age children across the city ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year, aiming to detect health problems early and strengthen preventive care.

According to Vietnam News Agency, this initiative is part of a broader effort by the city to ensure that children are in good health as they prepare to return to school. The health checkups are designed to identify any potential health issues that could affect children's learning and development, allowing for timely intervention and management.

The program is set to cover a wide range of health assessments, including vision and hearing tests, dental examinations, and general physical checkups. By providing these services at no cost, the city hopes to promote a healthier school environment and reduce absenteeism due to health-related issues.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate in the program to ensure their children are ready for the upcoming academic year. The city authorities have coordinated with local health departments and schools to facilitate the smooth implementation of the health checkups.

Hanoi's commitment to child health and education is reflected in this comprehensive initiative, which underscores the importance of preventive care and early detection of health concerns, contributing to the overall well-being and academic success of its young residents.
