Hanoi: Work has started on a key section of the Belt Road No. 4 – Hanoi Capital Region expressway, one of the largest infrastructure projects in northern Vietnam, with a total investment of more than 56 trillion VND (around 2.2 billion USD). The expressway will stretch more than 113 km, including 103.8 km of the main route and 9.7 km of connecting roads toward the Noi Bai-Ha Long expressway. It will link Hanoi directly with Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, and other neighbouring provinces, while connecting with existing radial expressways to form a modern, synchronised transport network for the Red River Delta.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the project aims to significantly enhance regional connectivity and economic integration. The Belt Road No. 4 is expected to facilitate smoother transportation, reduce traffic congestion, and promote economic growth by improving access to key industrial zones and urban areas.
The expressway will serve as a vital corridor connecting multiple provinces, providing a seamless link for trade and commerce. By integrating with existing infrastructure, the project is poised to improve logistical efficiency and drive further development in the region.
The ambitious infrastructure initiative reflects Vietnam’s commitment to advancing its transportation network, aiming to bolster both domestic and international trade. Through strategic investments in road connectivity, the country seeks to enhance its economic competitiveness in the region.
