Ho Chi Minh City: A high-ranking delegation representing the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front, and armed forces paid tribute to heroic Vietnamese mothers and martyrs who made sacrifices for the nation’s independence and freedom and people’s happiness laid down their lives at the city martyrs’ cemetery located in the nameless hill area of Thu Duc city, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975-2025). The delegation was led by Politburo member and Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, and joined by a delegation from the Party Committee of Military Region 7 Command.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the tribute was held to honor the sacrifices made by those who fought for the country’s reunification. The event served as a reminder of the significant historical milestone achieved with the liberation of the South and the subsequent national reunification. The solemn ceremony underscored the city’s commitment to remembering and honoring those who contributed to the nation’s freedom and unity.
The commemoration was an opportunity for city leaders and the community to express their gratitude and respect for the contributions of the martyrs and their families. As part of the ceremony, floral wreaths were laid, and moments of silence were observed to pay homage to those who lost their lives in the struggle for independence.
