Ho Chi Minh City: Ho Chi Minh City is working to establish cooperation with Indian businesses, from giant tech firms to promising startups, to jointly implement high-tech projects, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI), big data, cloud computing, and specialised software solutions for industries, said Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan. Speaking at a seminar on Vietnam-India potential collaboration organised by the HCM City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) in collaboration with the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) on February 27, Hoan emphasised that information technology (IT) plays a pivotal role in the city’s comprehensive development strategy.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the initiative is aimed at enhancing the digital capabilities of Ho Chi Minh City by leveraging India’s expertise in the technology sector. The Vice Chairman highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships in IT to drive economic growth and innovation in the city. The collaboration seeks to explore opportunities in emerging technologies, which are expected to transform various industry sectors.

The seminar served as a platform for both Vietnamese and Indian enterprises to discuss potential joint ventures and exchange ideas on technological advancements. Officials from both sides expressed optimism about the collaboration, noting that the shared focus on IT and digital economy could lead to significant achievements in the near future.

The event underscored the mutual benefits of strengthening ties between Ho Chi Minh City and Indian tech companies, with particular interest in developing AI-driven solutions and robust cloud computing infrastructures. The city’s leadership reiterated its commitment to fostering an environment conducive to innovation, thereby attracting more tech investments from international partners.
