Ho Chi Minh City Must Maximise Role as Economic Powerhouse: PM

Ho chi minh city: Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has urged Ho Chi Minh City to further strengthen its role as Vietnam's leading growth engine, stressing that the city, which accounts for nearly one-quarter of the nation's GDP, will play a decisive role in helping the country achieve its double-digit growth target. The PM chaired a working session with the Standing Board of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on June 13.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the Prime Minister highlighted the strategic importance of Ho Chi Minh City in the national economic landscape. He emphasized that the city must continue to innovate and lead in economic initiatives to ensure sustained growth. The session focused on developing strategies to enhance the city's contribution to the national economy and address challenges that may impede its progress.

The Prime Minister also discussed the necessity for the city to improve its infrastructure and attract more foreign investment. By doing so, Ho Chi Minh City can enhance its competitiveness and maintain its role as a pivotal economic hub in the region. The government is committed to supporting the city in these endeavors, ensuring that the necessary policies and resources are in place to bolster its development.
