Hanoi: Honda Vietnam has officially launched its first domestically produced electric scooter, the ICON e:, marking a significant step in the company’s electrification and sustainable mobility strategy in Vietnam. At the unveiling event held at the company’s factory in Vinh Phuc province on March 27, General Director Koji Sugita emphasised that the introduction of the ICON e: underscores Honda’s commitment to offering environmentally friendly vehicles, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.

According to Vietnam News Agency, this launch represents an important milestone for Honda Vietnam as it ventures into the electric vehicle market. The ICON e: is expected to address the growing demand for eco-friendly transportation options in Vietnam. The decision to produce the scooter domestically is part of Honda’s broader approach to support local manufacturing and reduce the environmental impact of transportation.
