Indian Navy Ship INS Darshak Docks at Saigon Port for Three-Day Visit

Ho Chi Minh City: The Indian Navy’s ship INS Darshak, under the command of Colonel Praveen Thomas, arrived at Saigon Port on the morning of May 29. This marks the beginning of a friendly three-day visit to Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to strengthen ties between India and Vietnam.

According to Vietnam News Agency, during their stay, the officers and crew of INS Darshak are scheduled to lay a wreath in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his statue on Nguyen Hue walking street. Additionally, they will pay courtesy calls on leaders from the municipal People’s Committee, Military Region 7 Command, and Naval Region 2 Command, fostering diplomatic and military relations.

The visit also includes cultural and historical explorations, as the Indian officers and sailors will tour significant sites within the city. Part of their engagement involves friendly sports exchanges with the Vietnam People’s Navy, aimed at building camaraderie between the two naval forces. Moreover, the crew of INS Darshak will host local delegations, offering guided tours of the ship to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation.
