Vietnam and Venezuela Strengthen Diplomatic Ties Through Working Visit

Caracas: A delegation from the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) and the Vietnam-Venezuela Friendship Association recently completed a working visit to Venezuela from May 24 to 29. The visit, organized at the invitation of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), aimed to observe the country’s parliamentary and regional elections.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the Vietnamese delegation engaged in various activities during their visit. They participated in sessions with Venezuela’s National Electoral Council and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Simon Bolivar Institute for Peace and Solidarity Among Peoples (ISB). The delegation also had a courtesy meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Yvan Gil Pinto and held discussions with the Venezuela-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Additionally, the delegation met with war veterans in Caracas and prominent figures who express admiration for Vietnam. The visit is seen as a significant step in deepening the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Venezuela, emphasizing people-to-people diplomacy.
