Indonesia-Based Research Institute Ready to Contribute Ideas to APEC 2027 Discussions

Hanoi: Deputy Foreign Minister Ngo Le Van received Watanabe Tetsuya, President of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), in Hanoi on August 20, during the latter's visit to Vietnam from August 19-21.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between Vietnam and ERIA, particularly in the context of the upcoming APEC 2027 discussions. ERIA, being a significant player in economic research within the region, expressed its eagerness to offer valuable insights and ideas to the forum.

The visit by Watanabe Tetsuya underscores the importance of cooperative efforts between ASEAN member states and research bodies like ERIA in contributing to regional economic strategies. The discussions emphasized the role of research in shaping policies that could drive economic growth and development in the Asia-Pacific region.
