Industrial Production Posts Strongest Seven-Month Growth in Years

Vietnam: Vietnam's industrial production maintained strong momentum in the first seven months of 2026, with the index of industrial production (IIP) rising 11.4% year-on-year. This represents the highest increase in the same period recorded in many years, driven by robust manufacturing activity and the commissioning of new production capacity. The National Statistics Office reported that the July IIP rose an estimated 1.2% from the previous month and 14.5% year-on-year.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the growth in industrial production is attributed to the expansion in key sectors and the operationalization of newly established manufacturing facilities. This growth indicates an upward trajectory for Vietnam's manufacturing sector, which continues to play a pivotal role in the country's economic development. The report highlights the positive impact of new production lines and increased efficiency in existing operations, contributing to the overall rise in production levels.

This surge in industrial production is seen as a significant milestone for Vietnam's economy, showcasing the resilience and adaptability of its industrial sector in a competitive global market.
