IOM Vietnam Honours Youth-Led Efforts to Combat Human Trafficking

Hanoi: The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in Vietnam hosted an event in Hanoi to honour youth-led initiatives aimed at advancing safe migration and curbing human trafficking. As part of the UK Home Office-funded project 'Tackling Modern Slavery in Vietnam' (TMSV), the event drew over 200 delegates, including those from the UK Embassy, the Vietnam Women's Union, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the private sector, social organisations, youth leaders, and media outlets.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the event served as a platform to recognize and promote the contributions of young people in the fight against human trafficking. It highlighted the importance of youth engagement and leadership in creating effective strategies to prevent and combat trafficking. The TMSV project aims to create a safer environment for potential victims by enhancing awareness and providing support mechanisms for safe migration practices.
