Havana: The Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang has announced the completion of its programme aimed at eliminating makeshift and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households. This announcement comes in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, marking an important milestone for the region.
According to Vietnam News Agency, Kien Giang has successfully constructed and repaired 3,618 houses under this initiative. The programme required a total investment of over 213 billion VND, equivalent to nearly 8.20 million USD. This development is a significant step towards improving the living conditions of disadvantaged communities in the province by providing them with safe and sturdy homes.
The completion of this housing programme is expected to lay the foundation for a stable and improved quality of life for the residents, ensuring that they have access to secure housing.
