Lang Son: The northern mountainous province of Lang Son is striving to complete more than 900 new houses for the needy before the Lunar New Year, or Tet. During the launch of a program to support the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province held on December 2, Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Nguyen Hoang Tung, called on local authorities, organisations, businesses, religious groups, and the public to contribute cash, materials, machinery, and workdays.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the initiative is part of a broader effort to improve living conditions for underprivileged families in the region. The program aims to replace substandard housing with safe and durable homes, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for many residents. The provincial authorities have been actively collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of these houses.
Nguyen Hoang Tung emphasized the importance of community involvement in this project, urging
everyone to participate in whatever capacity they can. The appeal for support is not limited to financial donations but extends to providing construction materials, machinery, and volunteer labor. This collective effort is expected to make a significant difference in the lives of those who will benefit from the new housing.
The provincial government has set a target to finish the construction of these houses before Tet, a significant cultural and traditional holiday in Vietnam. This timeline underscores the urgency and commitment of the authorities to address the housing needs of the disadvantaged population promptly. By mobilizing resources from various sectors, Lang Son hopes to provide a meaningful gift to its needy residents in time for the festive season.
Nguyen Hoang Tung’s call to action has already garnered attention and support from several local entities. As the project progresses, continuous collaboration and contributions will be crucial to achieving the set objectives and ensuring the successfu
l delivery of new homes to those in need by the Tet deadline.
