Lao Traditional New Year Bunpimay Celebrated in Hanoi

Hanoi: The Lao Embassy in Vietnam on April 8 held a ceremony in Hanoi to celebrate Laos' traditional New Year festival, Bunpimay. The event was attended by Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, and President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Doan Minh Huan. The celebration included a traditional wrist-tying ceremony, aiming to wish for peace, happiness, and good fortune. Participants also enjoyed a banquet and engaged in a cultural exchange that underscored the Vietnam-Laos friendship.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the event was a testament to the strong diplomatic ties and cultural connections between Vietnam and Laos. The presence of high-ranking officials from both nations highlighted the importance of the festival as a symbol of unity and cooperation.
