Locals and Tourists Gather for New Year’s Celebrations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City

Hanoi: A few hours before the New Year 2026, a large number of locals and tourists in Hanoi have gathered at the area around Hoan Kiem Lake in the center of the capital city to wait for the fireworks display and join in the Hanoi Countdown 2026 programme. In Ho Chi Minh City, thousands of people flocked to the central areas such as Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, Le Loi street, and Bach Dang wharf, as well as locations in Vung Tau and Binh Duong to participate in New Year's celebrations.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the festivities in these major cities are expected to draw significant crowds, showcasing the vibrant spirit and enthusiasm of both residents and visitors.
