Major Shifts Expected in Vietnam-Russia Technology Cooperation

Hanoi: Prof. Dr Tran Hong Thai, President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), has held a working session with Artyom Zassourky, Vice President at Russian conglomerate AFK Sistema, to promote cooperation in several strategic technology fields. As part of bilateral activities within the framework of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam's state visit to Russia, the meeting built on a cooperation framework established by the two sides earlier this year.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the session aimed to strengthen ties between Vietnam and Russia in areas such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology. The leaders discussed the potential for joint research projects and the exchange of expertise, which could lead to significant advancements in these fields. The meeting also focused on enhancing the capabilities of both nations through collaborative efforts.

The cooperation framework, initiated earlier this year, laid the foundation for expanded engagement between the two countries. This framework is expected to facilitate more frequent exchanges and collaborative projects, fostering innovation and technological growth. Both parties expressed optimism that this partnership could lead to substantial benefits in terms of technological development and economic growth.

This meeting is seen as a crucial step in solidifying Vietnam-Russia ties in technology, as both countries look to leverage each other's strengths in the global tech landscape. The collaboration is anticipated to open new opportunities for businesses and researchers in both nations, driving progress and innovation.
