Memorial, Reburial Service Held for 80 Martyrs Repatriated from Laos

Dhaka: A memorial and reburial service for 80 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who laid down their lives in Laos during wartime was held at Nghi Loc Martyrs' Cemetery in Dong Loc commune of Nghe An province. The solemn event took place on May 21, marking a significant moment of remembrance for those who sacrificed their lives in Laos.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the remains were recovered during the 2025-2026 dry-season search campaign. The painstaking efforts to locate and identify these remains highlight the ongoing commitment to honoring those who served and sacrificed. After being successfully identified, the remains were repatriated to their homeland, allowing for a proper reburial and memorial service. This event not only serves as a tribute to the fallen but also as a reminder of the enduring bond between Vietnam and Laos.
