NA Chairman Meets with Foreign Parliamentary Leaders on Sidelines of APF Meeting

Can Tho: National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with First Vice President of the Cambodian Senate Ouch Borith and Speaker of the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) Vital Kamerhe in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on January 22. The meetings took place against the backdrop of the APF Executive Committee’s meeting and a parliamentary forum on Francophonie cooperation in sustainable agriculture, food security, and climate change response held in the Vietnamese locality.

According to Vietnam News Agency, these discussions were part of a larger effort to strengthen international cooperation in critical areas affecting member countries. The meetings focused on enhancing collaboration in sustainable agriculture, addressing food security challenges, and responding to climate change, all of which are pressing issues within the Francophonie community.

The APF Executive Committee meeting and the parliamentary forum provided a platform for member countries to share experiences and develop joint strategies to tackle these global challenges. The engagement between the NA Chairman and his counterparts from Cambodia and the DRC emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering cooperation and achieving sustainable development goals.
