National Teleconference on Election Preparations Held with Broad Participation

Hanoi: A national teleconference was held on February 26 to review preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly (NA) and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 tenure. The conference convened at the NA Building in Hanoi and was connected online with 34 province-level and 3,321 commune-level sites across the nation. It saw the involvement of senior leaders from the Party, State, and Government, members of the National Election Commission (NEC), and representatives from central agencies and mass organizations, alongside leaders of provinces and cities. At the grassroots level, local election steering committees, election commissions, and community representatives participated via teleconference.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the widespread engagement of participants underscores the importance placed on ensuring comprehensive preparation for the upcoming elections. The teleconference aimed to facilitate coordination among various levels of government and ensure all necessary measures are in place for the smooth conduct of the elections. The event highlighted the collaborative efforts of national and local authorities in addressing the logistical and administrative challenges associated with organizing elections at such a large scale.
