New Da Nang City Leverages Technology for Administrative Reform

Da Nang: Da Nang city and Quang Nam province are collaborating to implement technology in the pilot operation of a two-tier local administration model in six new communes and wards, from June 21 to 23, as they prepare for their merger into a new Da Nang city on July 1. This model is currently being tested in Da Nang’s Thanh Khe and Ngu Hanh Son wards and Hoa Vang commune, as well as Quang Nam’s Tam Ky ward and Dai Loc and Tien Phuoc communes.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the restructuring will result in the new Da Nang having 94 commune-level administrative units, comprising 23 wards, 70 communes, and one special zone. The initiative aims to streamline the administrative framework, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, and address the demands of urban development in this new phase.
