Ngoc Chien Commune Enters Golden Season

Hanoi: Ngoc Chien commune in Son La province is home to more than 560 hectares of terraced rice fields. The fields are planted with special sticky rice, which is very soft and fragrant once it’s cooked thanks to the fresh, cool air all year round and the fertile soil. From late August to September each year, the landscape of Ngoc Chien commune transforms to a deep gold colour thanks to the ripening grains of sticky rice. The curving terraced rice fields resemble pallets of water colour, attracting visitors to the mountainous commune.

According to Vietnam News Agency, Ngoc Chien’s transformation during this period is a significant draw for tourists. The unique appearance of the terraced fields during harvest season offers a visual spectacle, providing an opportunity for visitors to capture the golden hues of the landscape. The rich cultural heritage of the region, coupled with the natural beauty, enhances the allure of Ngoc Chien as a travel destination during the late summer months.
