Ninh binh: The Vietnam – Japan Buddhist cultural exchange festival took place at the Tam Chuc National Tourist Complex in Ninh Binh province from November 15 to 16. The event saw the participation of thousands of monks, Buddhists, local residents, and Japanese visitors, celebrating the cultural ties between the two nations.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the festival showcased a wide range of traditional Vietnamese and Japanese rituals and artistic activities. Attendees experienced sutra chanting at the Tam The Hall of Tam Chuc pagoda, along with performances of Xam folk singing. The festival also included flower-offering and Buddha recitation ceremonies, aligning with Pure Land Buddhism practices.
The event further highlighted the Japanese Buddhist tradition of sutra writing. Participants had the opportunity to partake in a lantern night and morning meditation sessions, culminating in a Buddha offering ceremony at Ba Sao Pagoda.
