Hanoi: A Vietnamese language gala was held in Hanoi on August 26 in response to the Day for Honouring Vietnamese Language in the Vietnamese community abroad, observed annually on September 8. The event was jointly organised by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnam Television (VTV).

According to Vietnam News Agency, the gala aimed to strengthen the connection between Vietnamese people living abroad and their cultural roots. It served as an opportunity to promote the Vietnamese language among overseas communities, ensuring that the language and cultural heritage continue to thrive outside Vietnam.

The event featured various activities and performances centered around the Vietnamese language, highlighting its importance in maintaining the country's identity among its diaspora. Participants included representatives from different Vietnamese communities abroad, who shared their experiences and efforts in preserving the language in their respective countries.
