Hanoi: Vietnam and Palestine on June 19 held a ceremony to posthumously award the Grand Collar Medal of the State of Palestine to General Vo Nguyen Giap, recognising his enduring contributions to national liberation movements and his steadfast support for the Palestinian cause.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the ceremony highlighted General Giap's significant role in supporting liberation efforts globally, notably his alignment with the Palestinian struggle. General Giap, a prominent figure in Vietnam's history, was honoured for his solidarity and advocacy for oppressed nations. The award acknowledges his historical impact and the influence of his support on international movements for independence.
